People won't support monarchy revival: Agni Sapkota
27 July 2013,
UCPN-Maoist Spokesperson Agni Sapkota ruled out the people's support for the revival of monarchy in Nepal.
Dubbing the revival of
monarchy as daydreaming, Sapkota said though they have questioned the political
parties’ people do not fancy the monarchy anymore.
He was talking to the media
corps at a regular weekly press meets at the party headquarters, Paris Danda,
on Saturday.
According to him, the people
will not regress to the monarchy for they opt for progress and are in favor
of the change.
Sapkota urged the partners of
comprehensive peace agreement to move ahead steadily to ensure the
change, safeguard and institutionalize the republic and promulgate the new
constitution.
Referring to the series
campaign launched by CPN-Maoist-led 33 political parties to boycott the
Constituent Assembly election, leader Sapkota said the campaign including the
breaking of mock ballot box is against the people's aspirations.
On a different note, Sapkota
said that his party’s election campaign has been initiated to make
its relation with the public better.
